ZSecurity FAQ
V. Firewall Component of ZSecurity Internet Suite
Does the ZSecurity suite include a firewall?
Yes. Internet Shield is the suite's firewall which monitors all internet communications. It blocks all unwanted inbound traffic to protect you from viruses, spyware, trojan horses, and other malware, as well as keeping unused and secure communications ports closed. Internet Shield also block unwanted outbound traffic to prevent hackers from using your computer as a zombie for their own purposes. Once installed, Internet Shield automatically protects your computer.
Can I specify certain programs to be allowed or denied access by Internet Shield?
Yes. To do so, follow the instructions found in the last question of sect. II for restoring internet access and email. Substitute your browser and email programs with the others you may want to allow or deny.
Can I temporarily turn off Internet Shield to allow all traffic?
While this is not recommended it can be done. ZSecurity can be unloaded from system memory which will allow all traffic, both inbound and outbound. To unload ZSecurity and allow all traffic:
1.Right-click the ZSecurity icon in the system tray.
2.Select Unload and allow all network traffic.
3.To restore ZSecurity, right-click the system tray icon and select Reload.
